Our newest podcast is now available. I talk with Bernard Guinyard, a Diversity Business Partner at Meta (Facebook). Prior to Joining Meta he served as the head of Diversity Equity & Inclusion at the law firm Goodwin Procter. He has provided leadership and strategic planning and execution to diversity recruiting, Talent Processes, and leader engagement. Mr. Guinyard implemented programs that embed Inclusion and equity practices into the fabric of an organization’s talent processes and culture, which have positively impacted the employee experience, improved retention, and advancement of underrepresented talent at his prior organizations. Through this process, he ensures that efforts are meaningfully aligned to business outcomes.
In the podcast, we cover:
- Bernard’s story and his journey as a DEI practitioner
- The definition of cultural competency and cultural dexterity
- How can an organization can help its leaders cultivate cultural competence and dexterity
- The first place managers can begin on their journey to being more culturally competent managers
