The day has finally arrived – or actually, it will next week. The SEC has scheduled the Commission vote on the final climate rule for March 6. The meeting will begin at 9:45 a.m. (ET) and will be open to the public via webcast on the Commission’s website at www.sec.gov. Consideration of the climate rule is the second of two items on the agenda. That is all we know for sure at the moment.
This had been expected by many based on last week’s rampant rumors, although I wasn’t convinced those were different from the previous times we had heard the same thing. If the rumors continue to hold up, we won’t see Scope 3 in the final release. We’ll know for sure soon.
